Wooden Dapping Block And 7 Shaping Punches

Description

This range of 7 wooden dapping punches and dapping block in a set are a fantastic addition to any workshop.

Use this forming and dapping block to create curves and angles within your metal sheet. As it is made from wood it provides a softer tool to work with, preventing surface marks and scratches.

To use for doming simply anneal metal to make it more malleable, cool, pickle and then place on doming block over the largest indent to start, (be sure to use slightly smaller punch) then strike with force using a mallet such asorto start doming/shaping. Repeat a few times, moving the punch around in a circular motion as you go. You’ll need to anneal again after a few strikes and work down the diameters until you reach your required size.

We would advise when striking to place the block onto a mat such asto defuse the vibration.

Punch sizes are as follows; 25.4mm, 32.5mm, 37.5mm, 40.5mm, 45mm, 50.8mm and 63.5mm with a 71mm dapping cube.
