This melting dish is designed to withstand the high temperatures required to melt platinum, which can reach up 1770°

This straight sided crucible of fused-silica will not contaminate platinum.

This dish has been designed for jewellers to melt platinum before casting it into molds.

Please note – Set it up in a well-ventilated area or fume hood, as melting platinum can release fumes.

Ensure you have proper heat-resistant gloves, protective eyewear, and a face shield to protect yourself from heat and potential splashes.

Use a high-temperature furnace or a torch with a temperature rating capable of at least 1,770°C (3,220°F), which is the melting point of platinum.

Set the furnace or adjust the torch flame to the appropriate temperature. Platinum should be heated gradually to avoid thermal shock.

Keep the temperature steady to ensure smooth melting, but avoid overheating, which could damage the dish or cause the platinum to oxidize.

Allow the platinum melting dish to cool naturally after use. Never cool it too quickly by placing it in water, as this could cause thermal shock.

Handle the dish with caution until it has fully cooled down.
