This No. 8 Flame Burr has been produced from a single piece of hardened steel and is characterised by a stable design which provides a precise power cut and optimum concentricity, ideal for preparing settings.

Measuring 1.00mm at its’ widest, with a long taper to a fine point, this flame shape burr opens the setting up to allow for the wideness part of the girdle but then tapers in again to hold the gem securely in place.

Its narrow, fine point allows it access to awkward areas perfect for removing casting flash.

It has a full working head depth of 4.15mm.

It is designed to be used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill, micromotor or even a pin vice such asorto cut or grind away, shape or give pattern to a surface.

Suitable to be used on metal, wax and plastics.

Each burr’s construction consists of a number of teeth/blades (in a given shape) mounted onto a 2.34mm shank.

The shank fits into the collet/chuck of the drill, and when turned these teeth cut into and remove the surface being worked upon.

Quantity of material removed depends on pressure applied, use of ‘Burr Life lubricant’ () helps prolong the burrs cutting ability.
