This CRFs Silver Anti-Tarnish Solution from Heimerle + Meule has been specially developed for use on silver or silver plated items.

This is a chromate-free immersion solution and works by creating a protective film that forms on the surface of your silver item, which prevents the item from tarnishing.

It is very easy to handle, therefore achieving a fast and efficient processing result every time.

It is important to read the information sheet before use. Following the outlined procedures are essential for optimal results as additional products and processes are needed.

Instructions for use:

• Tank material: PVC, PP, PE
• Working temperature should be 60-65°C (it is important not to exceed this temperature)
• Time: 3 to 5 minutes

For chemical anti-tarnish treatment, the workpiece should be thoroughly degreased and then immersed in the solution for approximately five minutes. Electrolytic anti-tarnish solutions are supplied either ready to use or as concentrates that can be diluted according to the manufacturer’s instructions,

typically using 200 ml of concentrate with 800 ml of demineralized water. After treatment, the workpiece must be rinsed thoroughly, as inadequate rinsing may result in yellowish or cloudy deposits. Care should also be taken to prevent anti-tarnish solution from contaminating electroplating baths, as this can negatively affect plating performance. These anti-tarnish processes are mainly intended for silver jewellery and display pieces. An alternative protective method is the application of a clear lacquer coating, although this can make future finishing, repairs, or reworking more difficult.

For electrolytic anti-tarnishing, stainless steel is used as the anode. The process is typically carried out at room temperature using a voltage of 6 V for approximately 2?3 minutes, and no workpiece agitation is required.

Care should be taken to keep anti-tarnish solutions separate from electroplating solutions, as they can be rendered useless through contact.
