Wooden Handle, Long Mushroom

Description

This handle is crafted from PEFC sustainable beechwood into a long tapering mushroom shape.

PEFC has spent 20 years promoting Sustainable Forest Management and creating a strong framework for the protection of the world’s forests and at the same time promoting a strong global timber market.

Designed for use with gravers, scorpers and mill grain wheels, the handle ensures a comfortable grip and a less straining position for your hand whilst working on jewellery pieces.

At the neck of the handle, a metal collar measuring 12mm has been fitted to retain the shape of the wood and prevent any splitting occurring when the graver is inserted.

The handle hole measures 2.8mm but will fit tangs slightly bigger when heated.

To mount the graver:

• Secure tool in a vice with tang pointing upwards
• Heat the tang of the tool to red glow
• Push hand on to heated tang and tap with a brass hammer to secure
