Wooden File Handle, 110mm/4.3″

Description

This File Handle is made from beechwood, it measures 110mm and has been designed to ease the filing process.

The smooth shaped wooden handle features a 20mm – 28mm diameter that dips in pattern to sit comfortably in your hand whilst working on your jewellery pieces.

This handle is perfect for 127mm (5″) or 152mm (6″) files.

At the neck of the handle, a 16mm diameter metal collar has been fitted to retain the shape of the wood and prevent any splitting when the file is inserted.

The handle hole measures 4mm but will fit tangs slightly bigger when heated.

To mount the file:

• Secure tool in a vice with tang pointing upwards
• Heat the tang of the tool to red glow
• Push handle on to heated tang and tap with a brass hammer to secure

Please note – this is not suitable for use with needle files or larger 203mm (8″) files.

A smaller 97mm handle is also available.
