Wooden Dapping Punch Set Of 12

Description

This range of 12 wooden dapping punches in a set are a fantastic addition to any workshop and perfect in conjunction with wooden forming and dapping block .

Use this forming and dapping block to create domes and angles within your metal sheet. As it is made from wood it provides a softer tool to work with, preventing surface marks and scratches.

To use for doming simply anneal metal to make it more malleable, cool, pickle and them place on doming block over the largest indent to start, (be sure to use slightly smaller punch) then strike with force using a mallet such asorto start doming/shaping. Repeat a few times, moving the punch around in a circular motion as you go. You’ll need to anneal again after a few strikes and work down the diameters until you reach your required size.
