Wooden Dapping Block With 11 Cavities

Description

This Wooden Dapping Block with 11 Cavities measuring as follows, 14mm, 20mm, 25mm, 31mm, 34mm, 41mm, 47mm, 51mm, 57mm, 64mm and 71mm, is a fantastic addition to any workshop.

The depths of the cavities varies with the size however the deepest 6mm-7mm deep.

Use this forming and dapping block to create curves and angles within your metal sheet. As it is made from wood it provides a softer tool to work with, preventing surface marks and scratches.

To use for doming simply anneal metal to make it more malleable, cool, pickle and then place on doming block over the largest indent to start, (be sure to use slightly smaller punch) then strike with force using a mallet such asorto start curving/shaping.

We would recommend using Wooden Dapping Punches Set Of 12:with this block. You’ll need to anneal again after a few strikes and work down the diameters until you reach your required size.

We would advise when striking to place the block onto a mat such asto defuse the vibration.
