Triangle Shaped Disc Cutter Set Of 6 From 6mm To 18mm

Description

This Disc Cutter Set can cut triangles from 5.5mm x 6mm to 15mm x 18mm. It contains 4 punches 5.5mm x 6mm, 7.5mm x 8mm, 9mm x 10mm, 10mm x 12mm, 14mm x 16mm and 15mm x 18mm.

This set can be used with a variety of metal alloys including Gold, Silver, Brass and Copper.

To operate: Remove all cutters, insert metal sheet into the centre slit under the triangle that is required, insert appropriate cutter and strike firmly with brass hammer ().

Ensure cutting edges are facing downwards. The metal disc will be found on the underside of the tool. The disc stamped is the size of the cutter.

Use lubricant like burr life () to lubricate the cutting edges of the punch to ensure a smooth process, thicker gauges may require more than 1 strike, however do not exceed maximum thickness as stated above.

Always support the opposite side of the cutter with sheet measuring the same thickness you are making blanks from, this will help to keep the cutter aligned and prevent the metal from sticking to the disc cutter.

We also recommend cushioning the disc cutter with the Polyurethane mat included () which means better grip so that the cutter doesn?t slip whilst in use. The polyurethane is an excellent shock absorber and maintains it’s shape under stress which means protection for you and your work surface.

Due to the nature of the process, burring can occur – Simply use emery paper to sand flush.

For added convenience this set is supplied in a solid wooden box to keep your tools safe and neatly contained. When not in use store away and to keep this tool in top condition, we would advise using lubricant to avoid rust.

We recommend using a metal thickness of 1.2-1.3mm (18 gauge) for a smoother cut with this disc cutter, however with soft metal such as silver and gold it will cut 2mm thickness.
