Needle File, Pillar, 160mm, Cut 4 – Fine Grade

Description

This Pillar Needle File features 2 flat faces making it ideal for smoothing out any flat surface filing jobs.

Needle Files have a smaller body than flat hand files but generally come in the same range of cuts, 0 to 4.

This file has a fine cut 4 finish.

The coarser the file, the more metal is removed. Files are graded as below;

• Cut 0 – Coarse
• Cut 1 – Coarse/Medium
• Cut 2 – Medium
• Cut 3 – Medium/Fine
• Cut 4 – Fine

The smooth round handle can be held comfortably without use of an additional wooden or plastic handle although a handle such as , is recommended for long term use.

Jewellers may wish to use a separate set of needle files for gold work to avoid cross-contamination of metal.
