This offers everything you require to start polishing! This Kit jewellery tumbler kit comes with starter pack 250gm barrelling compound and a pack of 500gm mixed steel shot.

The barrel polisher measures total of 21cm x 13cm x 13cm.

When using the steel shot, cleanliness is very importent of consistent quality of results as well as the inside of the barrel, shot must be kept clean and not allowed to oxidise or rust.

Leaving the steel shot in a water and Barrelbrite solution for prolonged periods of time will lead to rust. Please ensure to remove the shot and store it dry. For prolonged period of non-use, add 25cc of ammonia or one tablespoon of Barrelbrite to this solution.

Rusted shot is useless and should be replaced.

A max of 1kg shot is required per barrel. Do not overload the barrel with shot as damage to work may occur.

Use separate barrels and shot for gold, silver and base metal is advised, this is to avoid one type of metal being burnished into a different metal.

Please note this metal barrelling machine is 15 watts.

Ensure all pieces are thoroughly cleaned using an ultrasonic cleaner before barrelling. Any traces of dirt will contaminate the Shot and Barrelling Compound.

The outside of the barrel is 14.9cm in length and 11.5cm in diameter, the inside diameter is 10.4cm.

The barrelling compound is categorised as Hazardous Goods. This is defined as anything that contains diluted solution of pure chemical, a mixture of substances, manufactured products or articles which can pose a low element of risk to people, animals or the environment if not properly handled in use or in transport. Therefore, this barrel polishing kit will have a narrowed choice of delivery methods.
