This second generation gemstone estimator has been redesigned to offer a more compact and sturdy tester.

Key features of this product include:

• Newly designed inbuilt glass and calibration (CAL) test discs for reference.
• Ability to separate up to 16 of the most common coloured gemstones based on their thermal conductivity, providing quick and direct results via a clear analogue display panel.
• Includes the thinnest retractable probe tip (0.6mm diameter), which tests stones as small as 0.02ct.
• Supplied with a protective case and pen lid.
• Powered by 2 x AA batteries. Supplied with a UK 3 Pin converter as an alternative power supply.

This is a specialist product that requires careful operation and is intended for professional use only.

See our operation guidelines below:

• Constant pressure must be maintained between the probe tip and stone for accurate readings.
• When testing, ensure that the probe pen is upright otherwise results shown will not be accurate.
• An alarm will sound if the tip is touching metal.
• Stones must be clean before testing: gently rub the table of the gemstone with a soft cloth () or tissue paper.
• The probe tip must also be clean before testing: gently rub in a circular motion on paper. Please note – the probe tip is supplied with a minute protective clear cap that must be removed before use.
• Calibration of the tester may be required: on first use, testing in a different ambient temperature or when a new probe tip is installed.
• This product will not differentiate between natural and synthetic coloured stones.
• Coated gemstones can be tested.
