Busch Carbide Burr 2K-AU Inverted Cone 2.3mm is ideal for working on critical areas when setting angular gemstones, such as princess cut diamonds. The edges of the gemstones and the corners of the settings require careful attention to avoid damage. To fit gemstones into square bezel settings safely, it is important to optimize the setting to match the geometry of the stones.

Where gravers cannot be used, the 2K-AU burr with its smooth front surface offers an optimal solution. Its non-serrated design prevents unwanted milling contact in the axial direction, ensuring that existing polished edges remain intact.

The 2K-AU is also highly effective for grain setting, allowing jewellers to cut or separate individual grains and remove bars between neighbouring gemstones with precision.

Each burr’s construction consists of a number of teeth/blades (in a given shape) mounted onto a 2.34mm shank.

Equipped with a golden shank ring for easy identification as part of Busch’s AU series of finest grain carbide instruments, the 2K-AU is particularly suited for hard-to-process materials such as platinum, titanium, white gold, and jeweller’s steel, making it an essential tool for professional jewellers.
