This 1.8mm bud burr by Cooksongold is a precision tool designed for a variety of stone setting techniques. Made in Germany from high-grade stainless steel, it offers long-lasting durability and accuracy.

Shaped with a tapering point, it is ideal for cutting seats, refining azures, and removing excess material in preparation for setting stones. Suitable for use on metal, wax, and plastic, it provides flexibility across different jewellery-making tasks.

A bud burr is particularly useful for the following stone settings in jewellery :

• Flush Setting: Useful for smoothing or shaping the recess before the metal is pushed over the stone.
• Channel and Pave Setting: Helps gently shape the bottom or sides of the setting without damaging or thinning the walls.
• Beads and Prongs: Ideal for cleaning around and beneath beads or prongs after they’ve been raised, allowing for precision without removing excess metal.
• Seat for the stone : Refines the seat around the girdle after roughing in with a setting or bearing burr.

Mounted on a 2.34mm shank, this burr is compatible with pendant drills, hobby drills, and micromotors, making it easy to integrate into your existing setup.
