This competitive Artisan Oval Disk Cutter set is a fast and effective way of creating your own oval blanks, perfect for all levels of skill.

Made from hardened tool steel this set contains 4 oval stamps and a corresponding die:

• 13mm x 18mm
• 16mm x 21mm
• 19mm x 24mm
• 22mm x 30mm

The cutting end of each punch has been manufactured with a slight angle to ensure a smooth, sharp and reliable shearing action.

This set is suitable to use with soft metals such as: gold, silver and copper, up to 20 gauge thick (0.8mm).

Other metals like brass and aluminium can also be used but care must be taken when striking.

To use this oval disc cutter set:

• Simply place your metal under the chosen die
• Strike firmly with a brass hammer ()

Use cutting lubricant like Burr Life () to lubricate the cutting edges of the punch to ensure a smooth process.

Thicker gauges may require more than one strike, however do not exceed the maximum thickness stated above.

Always support the opposite side of the cutter with sheet measuring the same thickness you’re making your blanks from, this will help keep the cutter aligned and prevent the metal from sticking in the disc cutter.

Ensure your cutting edges are facing downwards. The oval blanks will come out of the bottom of the tool, ready for you to use.

The cutting edges have a 7 degree angle, enabling it to cut through metal like scissors.

Due to the nature of the process, burring can occur – simply use emery paper to sand flush.

For added convenience this set is supplied in a solid wooden box to keep your tools safe and neatly contained.

When not in use store away and to keep this tool in top condition, we would advise using a lubricant to avoid rust.
