Description

WG Ball Lead Free Wet Process Enamels offer great colour density and brilliance, producing stunning results every time. They are best to use on copper or steel surfaces. Wet Process Enamels are simple to use; simply mix with water and apply like paint to your design. The enamels can be applied either by spraying, dipping or painting with a soft brush and open up a whole new range of effects for enamel designs. This enamel is also Lead Free, giving you peace of mind that you are working with a safe and non-toxic material. This is great for everyone, but especially for those enamelling in an education setting.

To achieve the recommended thickness of enamel, mix 8 parts enamel powder (by weight) to 3 parts water (by weight) and stir until smooth. You can vary the powder to water ratio to suit your requirements.

Prior to use, the enamel container should be thoroughly shaken to ensure the product is in complete suspension. If over time, the enamel becomes too thick due to evaporation, the enamel can be thinned with water.

For best results, apply up to three thin layers of colour on top of a layer of fired Ground Coat, available for both copper and steel.

This enamel is Jade, colour reference: 12553.

Suitable to use with a 150 mesh sieve.

The firing temperature is between 800°C and 820°C. You can experiment with higher and longer firing of wet process enamels to produce different effects.
