Sterling Silver Bearer Wire 5mm X 0.55mm X 0.25mm

Description

This Sterling Silver Bearer Wire, also known as stone setting strip, is mainly used for making Rubover or Cabochon settings.

This fully annealed wire measures approximately 5mm wide and has 2 thicknesses; 0.55mm (3.4mm wide approx) and 0.25mm (1.9mm wide approx).These 2 thicknesses create a step for your stone to sit onto, with the thinner section of the strip being pushed over the stone using a bezel roller (999 AJG), securing the stone in place.

This light weight wire can also be used for setting other materials such as ceramics and sea glass, it could also assist with other decorative techniques such as metal inlay.
