Firing

• Phase 1: Place on steel mesh in hot or cold kiln. Ramp: Full, Target: 800°F / 426°C, Hold: 10 minutes.
• Phase 2: In carbon in stainless steel container. Ramp: Full, Target: 1400°F / 760°C, Hold: 1 hour. Let cool in carbon.

Please note – Allow the piece to cool down before removing it from the kiln for safety.

Project X White Bronze Clay has a 11-15% shrinkage reducing the risk of cracking or distortion of the final piece.

Top Tips

• Shape and manipulate Project X White Bronze Clay while it’s in its most pliable state; roll it out, create sheets and press it against textures for dynamic effects
• Experiment with various techniques like curling, twisting and joining pieces together; use a damp brush to ensure secure bonds between joints.
• During firing, position your work toward the back of the kiln for uniform heating
• Keep unused clay airtight to prevent drying out and revitalise it with a few drops of water or Project X X2O Rehydration Fluid ()

The composition of the White Bronze clay is copper powder, tin, water, and binder.

It has a 960°C melting point.

Please note

While your clay may appear dry at first glance, it’s simply a part of its exceptional design! The unique ‘dryness’ of the clay upon opening the package is a result of the vacuum packing process, which compacts the clay.

Unlike other clays, this means that the clay requires conditioning before use, a simple step that ensures your material is primed and ready for use.

Project X metal clay is crafted to transform into a perfectly smooth and workable substance without the need for water. This innovative process is effortless, either roll the clay or knead it with your fingers before proceeding with your creation.
