Lab Grown Diamonds are produced in controlled environments using advanced technological processes that replicate the natural formation of diamonds. By applying extreme pressure and heat, these methods create stones with chemical, physical, and optical properties virtually identical to those of earth-mined diamonds.

As the birthstone for April, diamond has long been regarded as a symbol of invincibility. The word ”diamond” originates from the Greek term adamas, meaning ”unconquerable” or ‘invincible”.

Traditionally associated with love and purity, diamond is also believed to embody courage, strength, and faithfulness.

Formed from pure crystallized carbon, Lab Grown Diamonds are created using one of two techniques: High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) or Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD). Cooksongold stocks a selection of both HPHT and CVD diamonds.

The quality of each diamond is evaluated using the universally recognised criteria known as the Four Cs – Colour, Clarity, Carat Weight, and Cut.

This particular diamond measures approximately 2mm and is graded as follows:

• Size: 7x5mm
• Colour: D
• Clarity: VS
• Carat Weight: 0.70ct (equivalent to 3 points; 100 points = 1 carat)
• Cut: Oval Cut

Please note : These measurements are an approximation as every Lab Grown Diamond has unique attributes and a slight tolerance of +/-0.05mm should be expected with these stones.

With a Mohs hardness rating of 10, a specific gravity between 3.50 and 3.53, and a refractive index of approximately 2.42, lab-grown diamonds remain among the most durable and brilliantly reflective materials known.

Certification Details:

• Lab Grown Diamonds with a carat weight of 0.50ct to 1.00ct come an IGI certification and laser report numbers engraved on the girdle.
• Lab Grown Diamonds of 1.00ct and above are supplied with a full-size IGI Certificate.

Important Note for Jewellery Settings:

When selecting a setting for a Diamond, it is strongly recommended to refer to the actual millimetre measurements of the stone rather than the carat weight. Carat refers to the stone’s weight not its physical size and relying solely on carat can lead to an improper fit in your setting.
