This 14ct Gold Filled 1.50mm Round Wire is ideal for creating a wide variety of jewellery pieces, whether you are creating wire rings, bangles, or findings. Gold Filled is the perfect option if you need something more economical than solid precious metal wire, as you get a high-end finish at a lower cost.

This wire is supplied soft and fully annealed, meaning it bends easily into whatever shape you wish. It is also malleable, so you don’t have to worry about it breaking under pressure when bending, coiling or shaping.

Gold filled is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight, and is therefore a much thicker and more durable alternative to gold plating. Unlike gold plated metal, gold filled can be soldered using 9ct or 14ct gold easy solder.
