This 14ct Gold Filled Continental Ear Wire and Ring is designed for pierced ears and sits under the ear lobe, offering an ideal basis for creating drop or dangle earrings. A jump ring is attached for you to easily add your drop or dangle of choice. The feature of the grooved fan motif provides an elegant enhancement to the design.

The lever spring fitting ensures a secure fit to prevent loss of the earring. To use, simply insert the wire and close the lever over it to secure in place.

Gold filled jewellery is also known as rolled gold or gold bonded and is created by mechanically bonding a layer of gold to a layer of base metal – usually brass. The outer gold layer must be at least 1/20 of the overall metal content by weight. Therefore it makes a great alternative to gold plating, which is thinner and less durable.
